Latest Trends Spark Interest in Vintage Fashion

The tendency to look to fashion trends of the past for inspiration has been on the increase for the past few years. Industry buzzwords like "Old Hollywood" are thrown around commonly these days, leading to a rise in popularity for classic styles.

Online fashion retailer Femminastyle.com has seized this opportunity to shift their focus entirely on vintage clothing and accessories. The web store had been offering an even mix of vintage fashion and handmade items from a variety of independent designers since its inception in 2004, but has now changed to exclusively selling vintage items.

Anissa Mook, former fashion merchandising student at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, and the owner of Femminastyle, says that the latest collections from modern designers have influenced her decision to offer only vintage products. "More and more, we're seeing designer clothing that has an obvious lean toward classic styles," says Anissa. "Much of what you see on the runway today is just a new spin on the same designs that came out thirty or forty years ago."  (read more)
